Would you like to have greater resiliency and ability to access a center of physical and emotional calm?

Biofeedback is a well-studied form of mind body medicine that can help you reset your nervous system's response to stress to improve overall health plus relieve the conditions listed above.

Using biofeedback allows us to look at the interaction between the brain, mind, body and behavior.

Biofeedback is a skills-based training technique used to teach individuals how to recognize and redirect their body’s reaction to stress.

In real time, using non-invasive instruments, you can witness processes that are normally subconscious: heart rate, breathing, muscle tension, skin temperature, and galvanic skin response (sweat gland activity). With the help of the biofeedback practitioner, these physiological responses start to be linked to mental processes and emotional patterns. Over time, this window into our own minds and bodies gives the opportunity for a person to better understand the changes that occur during stress, and then learn how to regulate these functions to manage or abate the negative effects of stress.

What to expect

Initial Session

The initial session includes measurement of your individual stress response, breath and posture evaluation, initial breath technique training, and collaboration to determine the plan for treatment.

Home Practice

Practice at home of daily 20 minute sessions for 8-10 weeks is necessary for you to see the full benefit of biofeedback training, however, I am open to working out the plan that will best fit your needs.

Weekly or Bi-weekly Training

Training consists of weekly/bi-weekly 20 – 50 min sessions for 5 to 10 weeks or on-going as needed. Session Include:

  • Biofeedback Training
  • Breath Work and Breath Retraining
  • Mindfulness Therapies and Progressive Relaxation
  • Therapeutic Exercises and Postural/Movement Awareness

Over the period of 8-10 weeks, and with regular home practice, these new psycho-physiological connections can be maintained without the continued use of a feedback instrument. You can decrease negative symptoms and bring about more ease. You are retraining your nervous system to be more resilient.
