While a lot of information flows from the brain to the body, even more flows from the body to the brain. So mental health is not just about our emotions or even our neurotransmitters (e.g. dopamine and serotonin), it’s about brain health. Our gut microbiome, our blood pH, our hormonal balance, our neurotransmitter balance all influence brain health. And these factors are, in turn, influenced by our DNA, how we breathe, what we eat, and whether we move our bodies. These are the interconnected pieces I address in my practice.
TOXICITY FROM FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL SOURCES– If you have frequent or chronic infections, skin issues, brain fog, irritability, and/or fatigue, gentle support of detoxification pathways in the body are a good place to start.
FOOD SENSITIVITIES – even without symptoms, the foods you are eating can be contributing to inflammation in the body. Multiple immune pathways in the body can be involved in food reactions, and the latest research indicates that when things are out of balance in the body (including the brain), the gut is often involved.
